With the announcement of a Madonna performance in the dance tent at this year's Coachella , I suppose a Death Cab for Cutie and Madonna collaboration isn't too far fetched. Maybe Beck will stay home and we'll catch a surprise visit from Ben Gibbard this year? I can't imagine any partnership could turn out better than with Jimmy Tamborello, though maybe this time Ben will get his post serviced.

There's even a video mashup contrasting the awkward couple's clearly different themes. The tracks aren't particularly synergistic, but it's an interestingly odd pairing. I don't care what people say about mashups, I respect mashers' obvious appreciation for music and (sometimes extreme) committment to the art... even if the tracks are not always album quality.
