Rogue Wave Take It To The Streets!
This afternoon I saw a fantastic street performance... and apparently in this corporatized industry even street performers have record deals. Taking a field trip from their instore acoustic set at Strictly Discs in Madison WI, Rogue Wave strummed a couple songs in the concrete corner of a nearby parking garage chosen for its stellar acoustics. The band was charming and particularly poignant was the cover of Buddy Holly's Everyday. I'm still not sure about these blog "rules" or "ethics", but I took a really neat video of part of the song in the garage and will gladly share it if you're interested [email me]. These four guys have mastered the falsetto harmony and I got a special kick out of the bassist singing along with his walking bass lines (little did I know this would actually come in handy outside). Check them out if you can; they're currently touring the country with Nada Surf.

Buy their new album Descended Like Vultures locally (Stricly Discs or B-Side in Madison) or Insound.

I'm kinda surprised they played their song from the Stubbs soundtrack. It's a great song but surprising, too.
