Field Trip to the Emotional Desert Landscape.
Our hopes will be packed into 5x5ft tents and our dreams paraded in front of us on a desert stage. Our favourite indie bands will beat the dust out of rock all day, Air will offer an eerily transcendental aria at twilight, Hot Chip will harness Girl Talk to unleash a disburdening dance emancipation, and Bjork and CocoRosie will take turns howling at the moon. For one weekend our heat-soaked dreams will be duller than our reality. Who's in?

PS... Bjork's new album will feature Antony Hegarty vocals, Timbaland beats, and the thumb piano. Damn EXciting.
So the Arcade Fire has a new CD coming out....how do you expect the indie music community to respond?
Can the Arcade Fire be this year's Arcade Fire?
There has already been way too much drama about Arcade's Neon Bible "leaks" including the track Black Mirror (mp3) that was actually hosted from the band's official website. I think the band had a front-row seat to their own indie buzz and are pulling everyone's strings to get people excited about the new album. But they're great, so who cares? There is a funny wikipedia article about it all. Arcade Fire definitely won't be this year's "Arcade Fire" because Pitchfork will give them a 2.3, the inevitable consequence for the sophomore album of any band they adored the first time around. If anything, my guess is that they'll be this year's "Killers".
