I Was Just About To Run

Anastasia Cazabon - Tree (from Stories)

With the tan slightly stiff on your cheek muscles and warm like the day, the forever of an afternoon spent in the sun is the beauty of eternal recurrence. When whatever can run its course of all things has already rolled on every piece of grass and mastered every kite trick, whatever can happen of all things has already happened, resulted, and gone by. And there are a forever of todays and tomorrows and forevers.

Your syntax reminds me of EE Cummings' Fairy Tales. Also of kites stuck in trees and the fact that no man is an island.

The end of that song is my favorite part. "I just wanted to share that with someone."

and to think how differently the day would have been if i hadn't just barely missed your face with my knee as i jumped over your picnic.

+1 for mention of eternal recurrence
+1 for mention of kite tricks
+268,004 for pluralization of forever
